Problems · Panel
Dented or cracked garage door panel
You can often replace one damaged section instead of the whole door. It depends on whether your model is still made.
Before you call
Run the door once and watch. If it catches, rubs or bangs, stop using it. The hit may have bent the track too.
Look on the inside of the door for a maker's label or stamp. If you find one, read it to us on the call.
Note which sections are damaged, and whether it's a dent, a crack or rust along the bottom.
What usually does the damage
- A car backing into the door
- A stray ball, or hail
- Moisture working on the bottom section until it rusts or rots
Replacing one section starts at $389, when the model is still made.
What can raise it
- An insulated or wood section
- A bent track or worn rollers from the same hit
Quoting it at your house is free, and you approve the price before the section is ordered.
When a new door is the better call
Past about 15 years, many door models are out of production, and a new section in today's color may not match yours. If that's your door, you'll know at the visit. A single steel door, installed with the old one hauled away, starts at $1,890.
Questions
Can you replace just the dented section?
Often, yes. If your model is still made and a new section matches the color, it starts at $389.
What if only the bottom section is rusted?
That's the section damp air gets to first. If your model is still made, the bottom section can be replaced without a new door.
Do you come out before quoting a panel?
Yes. We look at the damage, check whether your door's maker still makes that section, and quote it free.
